Day 31
When you start with a goal of crossing an ocean, I am reminded that long distance sailing is about the journey, not the destination.
As we were preparing for our final push the weather had different plans. The captain brought us together to discuss the significance of the journal and prepare for our final approach. Although Lisbon, Portugal was our original destination, it was unattainable due to winds gusting over 40 knots. Therefore we found safe refuge north of our destination in Vigo Spain. Culminating the journey which was the inspiration for 40° North fundraising campaign. Please click here to donate money to the Nova Scotia sea school so that youth can embark on their own personal journey of self-discovery and adventure.
Thank you to all of you that followed and supported us. From the crew of 40° North we wish you fair winds and following seas.
